Mr GOZAN serves as Special Advisor to the President of the Republic of Togo, in charge of monetary and banking affairs since October 2009 and he was from May 2010 to March 2011, Minister in charge of Trade and Promotion of the Private Sector of Togo. Since 2012, he has been appointed Director of the Togolese state-owned company, Togo Invest Corporation, responsible for identifying and implementing structuring projects for the Togolese economy.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES
Mr. GOZAN joined as an Economist the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) in 1977 following an entrance examination at the Training Center of the Issuing Institute based in Dakar, Senegal. During his career which ended in 2008, he held several responsibilities, including head of the monetary analysis department, advisor to the Director of Studies at the headquarters of the regional institution in Dakar and finally National Director of the BCEAO in Togo.
As part of regional integration projects by the BCEAO in the 1990s, M. GOZAN participated in the drafting of the WAEMU constitutive texts, was the initiator of the current indicators of economic and budgetary convergence of countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), promoter of the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) of Abidjan (Ivory Coast) from 1998 to 2000.
Mr GOZAN is also active in decentralized cooperation by initiating a partnership between the Swiss city of Thun and the prefecture of Agou in Togo where more than six hundred (600) million CFA francs have been invested in socio-economic structures in twenty-five (25) years.
EDUCATION
Graduated of Monetary and Banking Studies from the Sorbonne (University Paris I) in 1976 after a degree in Economics from the University of Grenoble – France in 1975, Mr. GOZAN obtained his High school degree at Tokoin High School in Lomé in 1970.
During his career, he has participated in several capacity-building courses and seminars, including at the International Monetary Fund Institute (IMF). Mr. GOZAN also holds a certificate in English from the Institute – First International Education School of English in Boston (USA).
